This project consists of a rehabilitation of the historic Cypress Fire Station in a residential neighborhood within the City of Santa Ana. The building was designed in 1928 by Frederick M. Eley, a prolific and highly regarded architect in early Santa Ana and Orange County history. The goal of the project is to restore the exterior of the building back to its 1928 features including the covered doors for the apparatus room and maintain its historic register standing. The interior of the building will be transformed into a new multi-use space to serve the community.
Work will consist of exterior rehabilitation and restoration of original character-defining features while the interior will provide fresh and engaging spaces for youth and senior citizen educational and recreational classes as well as a back-of-house offices.
